Franz Kafka
Director: Michal Dočekal
The American dream turned upside down
Immigrant. Foreigner. Missing person. Cast adrift in a world he does not understand. This is definitely not the American dream! But how to get out of here? And will anywhere else be better?
In his remarkable unfinished book, Franz Kafka, the king of the absurd, lands the main character, a sixteen-year-old boy, not only on the shores of the New World, but also in an incomprehensible, indecipherable and alien world which ridicules him. The author’s mocking tone is also the starting point for director Michal Dočekal’s dramatization (together with Iva Klestilová) in his return to the Goose on a String following his successful production of Dynasty (Lehman Brothers).
