community gathering with kosher wine tasting and Israeli specialties
Shabbat is a moment of community gathering, rest, sharing, and above all, a strong moment of Jewish family life. Shabbat begins on Friday eighteen minutes before sunset. At this moment, women light the Shabbat candles, symbolically reminding us of the Torah's command to observe and guard Shabbat. In many families, a candle is also lit for each additional family member. The Shabbat candles enhance the pleasant atmosphere of the Friday Shabbat dinner. Turn off your phones for one evening and try to listen to each other. In the candlelight and without the noise of music, we will open the Shabbat evening together.
