an unorthodox amateur troupe for our senior friends
Studio 60+ is an amateur theatre ensemble for seniors, established at Husa na provázku Theatre in January 2023.
It draws on the ideas and work of Eva Tálská and her Studio Dům, an alternative amateur company for adolescents established within the professional theatre setting in 1991. In a changing social landscape, Studio 60+ now offers a unique space for firsthand theatrical education tailored to the needs of seniors. Ensemble members engage with a diverse array of creators and creative approaches employed at Husa na provázku Theatre on a daily basis. Participation in the project provides them with the resources and platform to voice their own experiences and perspectives, challenging the antiquated notion that old age is purely passive and focused on the past.
Studio 60+ will continue to create original productions with a documentary twist inspired by the lives of contemporary seniors living in Brno.
