Markéta Matulová

She was born in Fryšták in 1992. A Gemini with a close relationship to nature and folklore. A lively performer, spirited singer, and violinist. A hard worker and a wild one. A companion for busy days and long nights. After studying acting at the Higher Vocational School of Art in Zlín under the guidance of Vanda Kavková and a subsequent tour through supermarket checkouts, she started her first engagement at the Petr Bezruč Theatre. In the eight years she spent there, she won the hearts of the Ostrava audience – and Ostrava won hers. If she weren't an actress, she would be a kindergarten teacher in a small village. She would grow vegetables, raise animals, and have beehives. When she's not rehearsing, she travels by train to visit her loved ones and reads. As a lover of comic books and movies (Marvel forever!), she knows that being a superhero is tough work. However, in exchange for the superpower to talk to animals, she would still try to save the planet and maintain the timelines of the multiverse. She would love to understand everything her dog, Mína Matulová, is trying to tell her. In 2021, she received the Theatre Critics' Award for Best Female Performance, the Theatre Critics' Award for Talent of the Year, and the Jantar Award, given by the Moravian-Silesian Region. All of this was primarily for her role as Věra Špinarová in the production of Špinarka. In 2022, she was nominated for the Thalia Award in two categories. In the desire to not stagnate, she tied herself to the Goose on a String Theatre in 2023.
